Bear Beadwork
Asha Bear, of Tobique First Nation, is an Indigenous artist located in the Wolastoqey territory. She is of Wolasqiyik and Mi'kmaq descent.
Asha has been beading since 2014. She was taught by a close friend and has continued beading since. Beading has been healing and provided for her financially in times of need; for that, she is very grateful. She is known for beading earrings; however, her art expands to various forms. Asha creates wristlets, moccasins, keychains, ornaments, necklaces, lighter cases and much more. Throughout her beading career, she has also hosted workshops and taught our youth. Asha loves beading and enjoys helping others explore art.
