Immerse Collective
Amber Solomon, beadwork designer and owner of Immerse Collective. Solomon is a Wolastoqewi woman born and raised in Bilijk. Her beaded work embodies a repetitive practice that holds close to her Wolastoq culture; beading symbolism through shapes, forms and patterns that reflect her life and what surrounds her. Her work delves into her reclamation of traditional teachings, in connection to her growing individuality and identity. Through beadwork Solomon has grown a passion for designing, creating, and making others feel proud and appreciative of Indigenous culture.
In January 2023, she expanded her business to include custom graphics and embroidered apparel and accessories. Immerse Collective was inspired to promote mental health awareness. While many of us experience mental health challenges, Immerse Collective intends on showing others light and love in times when we need it the most.
The vision of Immerse Collective as an Indigenous woman entrepreneur was made possible through the support and encouragement received by Future Wabanaki and Future New Brunswick and the Indigenous Affairs office of Mount Allison University. Woliwon for all your support!
